Accessibility

At Deptford Pride we aim to be an inclusive and accessible Pride for all members of the LGBTQ+ community and our allies. Whilst we endeavour to be as accessible as possible, we are small, this means we don’t have a wealth of resources to provide as much as we would like to.

The following information outlines our plans for accessibility on the day.

Please get in touch with the team if you have any specific needs. We will try our utmost to provide access arrangements to support your time with us.

Feel free to contact Mike our Accessibility Officer directly on michael@deptfordpride.uk

Wheelchair users and Physical Disabilities

Giffin Square is a flat space that has smooth paving stones. Our site map / guide will give you a sense of the layout on the day and the local area.

Both Deptford National Rail and Deptford Bridge DLR have lifts and step free access from the train to the platform. Deptford National Rail station is the closest to the Pride venues.

Deaf and Hard of Hearing

We will have a BSL interpreter for some of the performances and speeches on the day. Look for the logo on our schedule for the day for further details.

Autism, Neurodiversity (including mental health and learning disabilities)

We will aim to have easy-read versions of information available at each of our Pride Stalls. Please speak to individual stall volunteers to request copies, or for how best to access the information.

Queer Quiet Space
We understand that Pride events can sometimes be overwhelming and a break or quiet moment can be beneficial. To that end, we have partnered with Deptford Lounge – the golden building behind our Pride Stage – to offer a quieter space. This is fully accessible via a lift.
